The High Street Story
The year was 1964. A British firm, the Leyland Motor Corp, had just announced the sale of 450 buses to the Cuban government, challenging the United States' questionable blockade of the island nation. Marc Nesbitt had just given up his career as a professional parachute-tester in Santa Monica, California where he'd recently coined the term "surf's up".
On the other side of the country, William Amelang retired from the struggles of day-to-day life after having sold his grandiose stratagem for the War On Poverty to the Lyndon B. Johnson administration, thereby ending hunger and depravity across our great nation.
Due to some misbegotten cosmic joke, they met on an oil rig in Texas where they met some of the right people and became unimaginably wealthy. But using their wealth to accumulate more wealth soon grew old, and out of sheer boredom, late one summer night in 2012 they created... The High Street Band!
